Blackstone Valley Bassmasters

  • Only members in good standing will be allowed to fish. Non members are allowed to fish at the discretion of the tournament committee. Non members may fish any tournament, but they must pay tournament fees prior to the start of the tournament. 
  • Anyone (male/female) over the age of sixteen (16) years of age are eligible to become a member. Any underage anglers are required to be with a parent or guardian and the President must have prior notification.
  • Anglers are encouraged to show up early to tournament starts. Anyone who shows up late must find a tournament committee member to check in. Non-members may be required to have their live well checked. 
  • No live bait. Artificial baits only. 
  • Only one rod is allowed to be used at a time
  • No trolling.
  • Vessels must maintain safe and reasonable distance (100ft) while underway from each other and operate in safe manner. No vessel will come within 50 ft. from any vessel anchored or stationary with their trolling motor down. Please use common sense and courtesy towards other anglers.
  • All vessels must be in accordance with manufacturing, Coast Guard, and local law enforcement requirements (i.e horsepower limits, life jackets, lighting)
  • All vessels must have an adequate working live well system. No stringers are allowed to hold fish. 
  • Anglers and competing vessels are expected to adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations (Safety equipment as well as fishing regulations).
  • Check-in – all competitors must be present at the ramp or designed weigh in location upon the conclusion of the tournament. Penalties will occur for anglers being late. 
  • 5 MINUTES = 1 POUND
  • AFTER 15 MINUTES ANGLER IS DISQUALIFIED
  • Anglers are not considered late in emergency situations or redering assistance to another vessel. Failure to render assistance to a vessel in distress is an automatic disqualification. 
  • A five (5) fish limit is only allowed. Having extra fish in the live well is an automatic disqualification. Fish must measure twelve (12) inches from a closed mouth to tip of the tail. the “Golden Ruler” measuring devices are encouraged, but the Weigh Master official measuring device is the “Law of the Land”.
  • Culling is permitted, except dead fish. No culling dead fish. 
  • Any undersized fish is immediate disqualification. 
  • Dead fish penalty. 4 ounces. Dead fish are eligible for lunker prize, but will assessed four (4) ounce penalty when weighed.
  • Ties are determined by number of total fish, then Lunker. 
  • All tournament water are off limits 12:00 AM Wednesday prior to the start of the tournament. 
  • All members are allowed to fish, no one is left on shore. 
  • All members/nonmembers are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous/appropriated behavior as not to bring discredit to the club. BVB is a “teaching” club with the aim of competition while enjoying comradery and helping advance angler’s knowledge and skill. 
  • Any member can be removed, by vote, based on conduct unbecoming.
  • Anyone caught cheating will not be allowed to fish with the Blackstone Valley Bassmasters.
  • Blackstone Valley Bassmasters are not responsible for any damages, injuries, individual fines, etc. Anglers that partake in tournaments do so at their own risk. Boat insurance is required, liability minimum. 
  • Rules are set forth to be used in al tournaments. The responsibility of the rules lies with the tournament committee, all decisions are final. 
  • Please not that their may be emergency or adverse conditions / situations that may affect tournaments. In these situations a decision must be rendered. Input from members is always considered., but here may be instances that time is not afforded, therefore the President has the final say.
